Finnish company UPM Raflatac opened a new production facility for processing of paper in Chelyabinsk, RIA Novosti learned from the company.

Lasselsberger GmbH (Austria) plans to launch a plant for the production of fiber cement plates and a factory for kaolin wet cleaning in the Chelyabinsk region. Both companies will operate in Plastovsky District on the territory of the operating Plast-Rifey LLC bought by the Austrian investor. The total investments will amount to 60 million euros, the investment project duration is two years. About 200 jobs will be created with the launch of the new production facilities. The mineral raw materials produced in Plast are planned to be supplied to the Lasselsberger ceramic tile plant in Ufa and the future enterprise for the production of dry construction mixtures on the border of Bashkiria with the Chelyabinsk Region. According to experts, gaining access to raw materials will help the company to strengthen its position in the Russian market of ceramic tiles.
Swiss concern Omya intends to invest up to 200 million rubles to increase the capacity of its plant located in the village of Subutak (the Chelyabinsk Region). The relevant agreement was reached between Boris Dubrovsky, Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, and Harald Pfaler, CEO of the South-East division of Omya International AG, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
