South Korean Hyundai Corporation intends to invest in the establishment of a fertilizer plant in Nakhodka and in the production of ship building components at the Zvezda plant, in Bolshoy Kamen, the Primorye administration said.

Plans for the company's activities in the region were voiced by Senior Vice President, CEO of the Hyundai Corporation in Russia Li Jey Hwan during negotiations with the Russian side.

Rosneft and Hyundai Heavy of South Korea are creating their JV to manufacture heavy tankers with its controlling stake in possession of Russia, Rosneft executive, Mr. Igor Sechin, informs journalists.

"Being created is the JV with Hyundai Heavy for design and manufacture of Aframax heavy tankers with fuel gas engines", Mr. Sechin said after the relevant agreement execution ceremony.

Mr. Sechin explained that by 2020, special requirements would apply to tankers passing some canals and straits. "Had we not done it (executed the agreement, ed.) now, we would have problems with hydrocarbon transportation", he emphasized.
