Mondi Syktyvkar Timber Industry Complex, JSC (Mondi STIC), one of the largest manufacturers of pulp and paper products in Russia, has launched a tall oil production unit in commissioning mode. The equipment will allow the processing of sulfate soap formed during the cellulose production, as a result, the plant will be able to produce about 40 thousand tons of tall oil per year, the press service of the enterprise said.
In 2017, JSC Mondi Syktyvkar Timber Industry Complex (Mondi SLPK) will invest more than 4 billion rubles in production, about 1 billion rubles - in the development of social infrastructure. The corresponding protocol to the agreement on cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Komi and the company has been signed today by Sergey Gaplikov, Head of the Republic, and Klaus Peller, Director General of the enterprise, as reported by the Press Office of the Head of the Region.
Mondi Group, a large international package producer, signed the agreement for the acquisition of 100% shares of the Russian Bipak LLC, informs Mondi Group. Bipak produces corrugated card and packaging for foods and agricultural products, including drinks, dairy products, fruit and vegetables. The enterprise is located in Lebedyan, Lipetsk Region.
The cost of the Bipak acquisition is 2.8 bln rubles.

Mondi Group, international producer of packaging and paper, purchased 100% stock of Uralplastic-N, plastics producer, from JSC Rosnano and a private investor, the Mondi Group release says. “The purchase of Uralplastic supports the development of our consumer packaging business and strengthens our presence in the Russian market. It complements the existing plant in the Yaroslavl Region and gives us an opportunity to improve our offer for the customers in this growing market”, the release quoted David Hathorn, CEO of the Mondi Group.
Komi Administration informs that Mondi Group will invest EUR 800 million in the upgrade of Mondi Syktyvkar LPK in the next ten years.
Mondi Syktyvkar JSC will invest about 10 billion rubles in modernizing its manufacturing. The figure was announced to the journalists today by Sergei Gaplikov, interim Head of the Komi Republic, after the regional government and the company signed a cooperation agreement.
