A Russian–Israeli joint venture, Avgol Ros, has launched a second technological nonwoven fabrics production line in the Tula region, having poured RUB 1.5bn in investment into the project, the regional government said on Thursday.

The Israeli-based textiles company Avgol put its facility in the town of Uzlovaya, Tula region, in operation in 2008. The first train of the facility cost RUB 1.02bn in investment. At this point, Avgol Ros is one of the region’s leading textile enterprises. On Thursday, 10 December, the second technological nonwoven fabrics production line was commissioned.

“Investment in the project to launch the second nonwoven production line almost reached RUB 1.5bn. The enterprise exports roughly 30% of its output, with 70% sold to the regional businesses,” governor of the Tula region Vladimir Gruzdev said at the opening ceremony.

Once in place, the new production line will boost the company’s output to 20,000 tonnes of fabric a year, which accounts for almost 30% of the total textile and clothing output in the region.
