Barilla has started the construction of a mill which will include two facilities: a durum wheat mill and a pasta factory. The project is implemented in Stupino Quadrat Special Economic Zone, Stupino District, Moscow Region, and the mill startup is scheduled for Q4 2022, the press office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region said on Tuesday.

Barilla, an Italian pasta manufacturer, will invest €200 million in production located in the Moscow Region. This was announced by the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov after a meeting with the Italian delegation on Wednesday.

The Italian company Barilla, one of the largest pasta producers in the world, launched the second production line in Solnechnogorsk, said Denis Butsayev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Moscow Region.

“A new food line is launched by Barilla, a well-known company at the market. It produces a wide range of products, including pasta, macaroni, spaghetti, bakery, toast bread of long storage”, D.Butsayev said to reporters.

He added that despite the long storage of the products, they consist of approved additions and only certified components.

The new manufacturing line is going to produce Swiss pasta and macaroni.

The Deputy Chairman added that Barilla has been investing in Moscow Region over 10 years.

“The total investment volume is about EUR50 mln., the latest investments are about RUB1 bln.”, D.Butsayev said.

The first facility line was launched in 1998, it produced “Dan Cake” confectionary. Today, it produces Barilla products (spaghetti), Harry’s (bread), Mulino Bianko (biscuits), and Pavesi (crackers).
