China’s Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co, Ltd has agreed to attract financing to build a slab plant in Mariinsk (Kemerovo Region), the regional administration’s press service reports.

Sinosteel signed a memorandum with CJSC Mariinsk Slab Plant (MSP) on the joint implementation of an investment project in which the Chinese company agrees to attract financing by the end of June 2016. “Total investment in the project is planned at more than RUB 6 billion by the Chinese company and the internal funds of MSP”, the press service reports.

An industrial corporation from China, Sinosteel, is eyeing Yakutian projects dealing with hydrocarbon processing and geological exploration worth more than $7.7bn, general director of the Agency for Investment Development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Alexei Zagorenko told a TASS correspondent today.

“At the China-Russia EXPO in Harbin, Sinosteel showed an interest in a few projects in Yakutia, specifically, the construction of a hydrocarbon processing facility with a capacity of 2m tonnes a year (Aldan district) valued at $1.9bn, and geological prospecting and development of the West-Anabyr licence block worth $5.8bn,” Zagorenko explained.
