IHI, a leader of Japan’s heavy engineering industry, is poised to localize its production in Russia based on a car manufacturing cluster, head of foreign economic and international relations department of Moscow Sergei Cheryomin said in an exclusive interview with TASS Russian News Agency.

“IHI, a manufacturer of car components, is a major supplier to the Renault-Nissan plant in Moscow, announced that it remained interested in the Russian market and is ready to localize its production in an auto manufacturing cluster,” Cheryomin stressed. The news agency’s source also emphasized that the company had “no plans to leave Moscow despite the recent rouble crisis.” The company “deems its business profitable, and investments justified,” the official added.
