Turkish car seat manufacturer Martur will invest more than EUR 5 million in a plant the company is opening in Ulyanovsk in October, Deputy Ulyanovsk Region Governor Alexander Smekalin told journalists during an inspection of the plant.

“Pilot production will be launched mid-autumn and some 150 people will be working at the plant site before the end of the year,” he said.

The plant will reach full production capacity in 2016 and the grand opening ceremony is planned for January. Roughly 300 jobs will be created at the plant for the region’s residents. Previous reports indicated the plant would manufacture at least 150,000 car seats per year. Initial production will take place at a finished building in Ulyanovsk. The company is then planning to build its own facility at one of the region’s industrial parks.
