The Reckitt Benckiser household chemicals plant in the Moscow region city of Klin is planning to expand production in 2016, the Klin District administration’s press service reported on Friday.

“The production of detergents for Finish dishwashers will be transferred to Klin from Germany next year,” Klin District Head Alyona Sokolskaya, who visited the plant, is quoted as saying.

The local administration added that Reckitt Benckiser officials are also considering the possible transfer of the production of Nurofen pharmaceuticals from the UK to Russia, yet no specific timeframe for this initiative was given.

According to the press service, the Reckitt Benckiser plant in Klin opened in 1998 and some RUB 1 billion have been invested in production since then. The plant currently produces more than 60,000 tons of household chemicals, including liquid and powder detergents under the Dosya, Vanish, Calgon, Tiret and Cillit Bang trademarks and also packages more than 70 million medical products under the SanitaPlast, EviTest and Durex trademarks. The enterprise employs more than 400 people and pays an average salary of RUB 46,000 per month.
