German pump equipment producer Wilo Rus and Swedish fuel processing systems supplier Petro Bio are to open facilities in St. Petersburg in 2015.

German concern WILO SE will open a production facility at the Vodokanal site at the Northern Activated Sludge Plant (Konnolakhtinsky Prospekt, 12), where the federal unitary enterprise has announced a water cluster will be established. LLC Wilo Rus, via which the German manufacturer works in Russia, is expected to make a final decision on launching production in the autumn. The company is currently building a production facility in Balashikha (Moscow). “An industrial park will open at our site in the autumn and present demonstration models of domestic and foreign equipment. Wilo Rus will bring its own model in late August after which a final decision will be made about launching production of these models,” Vodokanal Development Director Gayane Pankova said.
WILO has supplied pumps for heating, water supply, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as equipment for pools, water parks and the treatment of industrial (boiler) and drinking water to Russia since 1997.

Swedish manufacturer PetroBio AB has worked in Russia via LLC Petro Bio for more than 50 years. It produces fuel-to-heat conversion equipment.

Negotiations with the manufacturers began two months ago. They announced that they had already compiled a plan under which the main equipment would be installed to localize production in St. Petersburg by the end of 2015, Energy Committee Chief Andrey Bondarchuk said. The production volume of the future facilities has not been specified.
