Two fuel pellet production plants will be built in the Pskov Region at a total cost of EUR 25-30 million. Phase 1 of the project will be implemented in 2017, the regional administration’s press service reported today following a meeting of the Regional Investment Council.

“The Pskov Region Administration and the company Eco-Pellets have signed a letter of intent to implement the Pskov Pellet project worth a total value of 25-30 million euros,” a spokesperson said.

The investment project involves the establishment of a fully automated production plant for fuel pellets with an annual capacity of 180,000 tons. The project’s co-investor is German Pellets GmbH, the world’s largest producer and supplier of granular pellets.

The investor is expected to commence design work as early as December. According to plans, the first plant will be built in 2017. The main sales market for the production will be the countries of Western Europe.
