Bell Equipment

Bell (South Africa) is planning to expand the production of dump trucks in Bashkortostan, Bell Equipment CEO Gary Bell said during a briefing at the BRICS Business Council that took place in Ufa on July 8.

Bell noted that the company has been cooperating with Bashkortostan for more than a year and the approach to work is the same in South Africa as it is in Russia.

“Our company has received enormous support from the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Work is under way with no complications and the joint project for dump truck production has great prospects,” Bell said. “Plans include expanding production of components for dump trucks in Bashkortostan, which will make it possible to increase jobs and minimize complications during the delivery of equipment.”

The prototype for the dump truck has already been created and following the summit it will be sent to Uchalinsky GOK for operational testing. The decision on the batch production of dump trucks will be adopted following the testing results.

As the company noted, equipment was certified and personnel was given training over the last year since “for NefAZ this is a new technology – different metal cutting and bodywork – prior to this NefAZ manufactured bodies for highway dump trucks.”

Bell Equipment was founded in South Africa in 1954. Articulated dump trucks are its main product. At present, production has reached 2,000 units per year, including the B50D and B60 models, which are unique in terms of load capacity. Bell has delivered dump trucks to Russia since 2003 and is comfortably one of the top three leaders on the Russian and CIS market.
