The meeting in Pervomaisky District celebrated beginning of the final phase of the project that was launched by Cherkizovo Group in 2012 in partnership with Spain’s Grupo Fuertes, that country’s major producer of turkey meat. Investments in the project will total RUB 7.27 bn and the new facility is scheduled to be launched in December 2015, with its annual capacity projected to reach 40,000 tonnes of turkey meat.
The participants in the meeting inspected construction progress at the incubator unit, where an international team of specialists are installing electrical networks and assembling unique equipment worth a total of more than €40 m.
The construction of the complex is supported by the Administration of the Tambov Region, which undertook to provide the requisite engineering, transport, and energy infrastructure, and earmarked RUB 1.4 bn for these purposes.
