Serioplast S.p.A

Dalmine, Italy-based Serioplast is investing almost €7m in the construction of a new facility on the Fedorovskoe industrial park in the Tosnensky district of the country’s western Leningrad region.

The new operation is set to manufacture 60 million blow moulded bottles of different capacities, sized from 200ml to 1 litre.

Production is geared to meet growing demand from its main customer Unilever which is expanding its Severnoe Siyanie factory in St Petersburg, Russia. It plans to double output of cosmetics and household chemical products at the site.

Serioplast also hopes to supply packaging from the plant to other potential multinational customers, including Coca-Cola, Henkel and L’Oreal.

The Italian blow moulder is just one of a growing number of foreign companies with investment projects in the Leningrad region, where overall direct international investments are due to rise this year by 8% to more than €944m.

Serioplast, an offshoot of Italian group Old Mill Holding, turns out a wide range of polyethylene, polypropylene, PET and PVC containers for the pharmaceuticals, personal and home care, food and beverage and automotive markets.
