Vasily Golubev, Governor of the Rostov Region, and Oleg Klein, Head of Cargill representative office in Russia and CEO of OOO Cargill, signed an agreement on the project implementation today at the International Transport Forum in Moscow.
The American company Cargill invests 1.5 billion rubles in the reconstruction of its grain terminal in the seaport of Rostov-on-Don. The cooperation agreement on the the investment project implementation was signed by the Governor of the Rostov region V. Golubev and the Director General of Cargill LLC Oleg Klein at the international Transport Forum in Moscow. According to the Investment Promotion Agency of Rostov region (IPA), which accompanies the project, the reconstruction of the terminal will increase its capacity from 650 thousand tons to 1 million tons per year.
The sunflower lecithin production was launched at an oil extraction plant in the Novoanninsky district of the Volgograd region. This substance is used in medicine, as well as in the food and chemical industries.
Cargill will build a modified starch plant in the Tula Region with an investment of up to 1.5 billion rubles, the regional government reports.
The American company Cargill opened the oil extraction plant worth $250 million on Wednesday in the town of Novoanninskiy in the Volgograd Region, reports the TASS correspondent.
The American company Cargill will launch production of sunflower lecithin on the basis of its oil extraction plant near Volgograd in 2019, the cost of the project is 500 million rubles, as TASS was informed by the company.
The signature of the agreement on the production expansion took place on June 18 at the XX Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.
It was signed by temporary acting governor Aleksey Dyumin and a representative of Cargill LLC.
The subject of the agreement is the implementation in the territory of the Tula Region of the investment project “Expansion of oils and fats production with the issue of new types of product by Cargill LLC” and the investment project “Expansion of feeds production and further infrastructure development”.
The implementation of the first project involves investing 1.2 bln rubles, and of the second one – 600 mln rubles.
Today, during the visiting session of SPIEF-2016 in Tula, Elena Zosimova, Head of Cargill Office in Russia, told the TASS correspondent that Cargill plans to invest more than $10 million in the expansion of its own production facilities in Efremov, Tula Region.
In recent years the company has invested more than $500 million in the modernization of its production facilities. The company produces syrup, corn starch and other ingredients for the Russian food industry in the Tula Region.
Minnesota-based Cargill, a food, agricultural and risk management products and services firm, has expanded its Russia plant in the Tula region.
Cargill is investing USD 100 million to expand its wheat milling plant at Efremov. The plant, which opened in 1995, employs 800 people processing 500,000 tonnes of wheat a year.
