A large manufacturer of automotive components Piterform LLC intends to expand its plant in the industrial zone of Kamenka in the north of St. Petersburg. This was reported by the media office of the Smolny on September 9.

Magna Avtomotiv RUS has received approval at the latest meeting of the Investment Council under the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region to reconstruct its production facility of its car bumper and door upholstery workshop and to turn its packing piece warehouse into a paint-shop. All the industrial facilities are located on Molodezhniy Prospekt in Nizhny Novgorod.

“Thereconstructionisplannedfororganising production of new car interior and exterior parts using the Magna industrial site. Investment will be to the tune of RUB 30 m and the work will take 12 months”, announced Natalia Kazachkova, Minister for Investment, Land and Property Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

She added that Magna had been operating in the Region since 2012, co-operated closely with the local authorities, held regular meeting with the Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor, and received real support on all matters requiring its attention. “I hope they will continue to invest in our Region”, Kazachkova summed up.

Magna Avtomotiv RUS previously opened a new production complex in the Nizhny Novgorod for servicing and modernising press forms for smelting purposes.

Magna Automotive Rus has invested RUB 1.5 billion in a new vehicle interior and exterior parts plant in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the regional government’s press service said.

“We are happy to have chosen the Nizhny Novgorod Region. It offers an excellent technical expertise and a well-developed infrastructure, and our customers are there too”, CEO Ilya Smolin said at the site unveiling ceremony. The regional government said that companies owned by the Russian Machines concern are key customers for the auto components.

He plant has created 370 highly productive jobs. “The creation of highly productive jobs paying decent wages is one of our keyobjectives”, Governor Valery Shantsev said.

He noted that a memorandum of intent was signed withMagna Automotive Rus in 2012 and the plant opened for business soon after, in 2014.

Magna Automotive RUS will open a plant for producing plastic components for foreign and domestic cars in Nizhny Novgorod in September; its investments will total about 1.7 billion rubles. This was confirmed to a TASS correspondent by the Ministry of Investments, Land and Property Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

“The Magna Automotive RUS plant producing automotive components will be opened at the 4th Business Summit to be held in Nizhny Novgorod on September 09—11; investments totaled approximately 1.7 billion rubles”, the Ministry said. The new plant will produce plastic parts of the interior and the exterior (bumpers, dashboards, petrol container covers, radiator frames, etc.) for Volkswagen, Skoda, Renault, Ford, Mitsubishi, Nissan, and GAZ cars. According to the Agency, about 400 jobs will be created at the plant.

The new plant will be the second production site of Magna Automotive RUS producing automotive components in Nizhny Novgorod. In 2012, the company opened in Nizhny Novgorod a company producing coated parts of the exterior (door panels, bumpers, front module frames) for Volkswagen and Skoda cars. Investments amounted to 1.8 billion rubles.

Magna Automotive RUS is a Russian representative office of Magna (Canada), one of the world’s leading suppliers of automotive components. In the RF, the company’s plants are located in Kaluga, Saint Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod.

In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the company has one of the largest facilities producing automotive components along with the GAZ Group, A. Raymond RUS, KursAuto Group.
