Located in the city of Slavsk, Kaliningrad region, the plant Orbita I announced this week the opening of six additional final assembly sections, reports the press service of the regional government.
A new factory for the production of roll sun protection means has been opened in Slavsk, Kaliningrad Region. The 60 million ruble investment project is a resident of a Special Economic Zone in the Kaliningrad Region implemented with the participation of foreign capital of the Swedish MARKISOL holding.
The equipment will be manufactured "at one of the advanced enterprises of the Special Economic Zone in the Kaliningrad Region." The company intends to further expand the range of manufactured products. The plans are to produce lighting for the urban environment, sports and trade facilities, industry, offices and municipal institutions. "Today, the Russian market of lighting equipment, estimated at more than one billion euros, is changing rapidly. Local rates of penetration of LED-technologies are estimated at 34.5%, which is only 9% less than the global trend. The professional lighting market shows a 46-percent increase in LED penetration. Localization of professional solutions will allow the company to more flexibly approach the needs of customers, as well as provide more opportunities for the development of sales and production of high-quality products, "- the company noted.
Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad expands the production of commercial vehicles. The line of trucks produced by the company will be replenished with Hyundai Xcient heavy trucks. At the moment, the pilot production of the first batch is underway, reports the Avtotor press service. Hyundai Xcient large-capacity models have not been produced in Russia before.
Kaliningrad Avtotor plant joined the production line of municipal and special equipment garbage trucks based on Hyundai commercial vehicles HD120, told Sergey Lugovoy, the company’s representative.
BMW has set up a subsidiary - BMW Russland Automotive LLC - in Russia’s Kaliningrad as part of its program on production development in the country, a representative of the company told TASS. "Indeed, the company named BMW Russland Automotive LLC has been registered in Kaliningrad. This is a planned step as part of our work to develop production in Russia," he said.
