The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia received an application from the Chinese company Beijing Gas Group to purchase a stake in Verkhnechonskneftegaz (VCNG) of Rosneft, as reported by Andrey Yunak, Head of the FAS Foreign Investment Control Department, to RIA Novosti.
China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) and China National Electric Equipment Corporation (CNEEC) are ready to invest in the construction of a mining and concentration complex at the Zashikhinsk deposit of rare-earth metals. The Chinese companies signed a respective memorandum with CJSC Technoinvest Alliance developing the deposit. The Zashikhinsk deposit of rare-earth metals is a large deposit of tantalum and niobium ores located in the Nizhneudinsk District of the Irkutsk Region. Its reserves are estimated at 33.5 mln tons of ore with high values of niobium and tantalum.
China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is ready to participate in the projects of establishing gas chemical facilities on the basis of the large Kovykta oil and gas condensate deposit and will send a working group for that purpose to Irkutsk in the nearest future.
