Rosneft and GE agreed to extend cooperation

Rosneft and the American concern General Electric (GE) agreed to extend their cooperation in the development and introduction of digital products, process solutions for marine engineering and the use of standard designs, the statement of the press office of the Russian company says.

Rosneft OC PJSC, Sibintek IC LLC and GE signed the trilateral agreement for the commencement of work on establishing a joint venture to promote advanced standards of the Industrial Internet of Things and digital solutions among the enterprises of Rosneft OC PJSC and in the Russian oil and gas industry. The project implies the establishment of a joint venture in Russia, which will develop and introduce digital products and services,” the statement says.

In 2013, Rosneft and GE entered into the strategic cooperation agreement on implementing innovative technology projects. In 2015, GE and Rosneft established the joint venture Experimental Engineering and Training Centre Sapfir, with its main task of Rosneft projects development using the advanced technologies of GE. The complex Zvezda is the location of the following two joints ventures of Rosneft and GE: Steerable Thruster Plant Sapfir LLC and Ship Electrical Equipment Plant Sapfir LLC. The companies also set up the joint venture Wellhead Fittings Plant Sapfir in the Murmansk Region.
