Tata Power's development of a coal deposit in Krutogorsk (the Kamchatka region) will be the largest Indian investment in the Russian Far East, Pankaj Saran, Indian ambassador to Russia, said on Friday. "The subsidiary of the largest Indian energy company Tata Power has obtained the right to use the deposit in Kamchatka in Krutogorsk. Negotiations on this project began several years ago, and I am glad that the company won a license to develop this coal field. This will be a major investment in the Far East, possibly this will be the largest Indian investment in this region," the ambassador said in an interview with Russia-24 television channel. According to him, this contract is "an excellent example of the complementarity of Russian and Indian economies."
