New French fry factory planned to be built in Lipetsk (Russia) to support key customers

Bas Alblas, CEO of Lamb Weston / Meijer, and Victor Semenov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Belaya Dacha, signed an agreement to establish a Joint Venture. Aim of the newly created Joint Venture is to invest in a new French fry plant in Lipetsk in order to support key customers in the rapidly growing Russian market. The total investment will be over EUR 100 million.

Lamb Weston / Meijer is one of the larger manufacturer of French Fries and Potato specialties in Europe, with 3 production facilities in the Netherlands (Kruiningen, Oosterbierum and Bergen op Zoom) and one in Wisbech in the United Kingdom (previous Garden Isle plant) and one in Austria (Frisch und Frost). With a current production capacity of 650,000 tonnes, Lamb Weston / Meijer employs more than 1,300 employees. Together with ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston, these products are sold under the Lamb Weston brand in more than 100 countries throughout the world. Total annual production capacity of dehydrated potato flakes is reported to be 30.000 tons. Lamb Weston Meijer is co-owned by Conagra/Lamb Weston and Meijer Beheer B.V., a joint venture that started in 1994.
