“One of largest world yeast producers, the Chinese company Angel Yeast, is intended to start the construction of its plant soon in the regional special economic zone of the Lipetsk region,” Oleg Korolev, the Head of Region Authorities, said in the interview to RIA Novosti.
The company is intended to invest 5.3 billion rubles in the plant construction for the production of dry and compressed yeast.
According to Korolev, the production volume will be 20 thousand tons of bakery yeast per year and 30 thousand tons of organic fertilizers for the agriculture. It is planned to construct the enterprise by June 2017. It is supposed that the production will occupy 12% of the Russian market and will be exported in future.
A meeting of the supervisory board of regional special economic zones (RSEZ) of the Lipetsk Region approved ten applications from investors to receive the status of RSEZ participants. A total of overRUB 7 bn has been invested in the projects, according to the regional Administration, referring to Council Chairman and Senior Deputy Governor Yuri Bozhko. Thebiggestproject is that undertaken by the Chines companyAngelYeastto construct, by June 2017, a dry and pressed yeast plant covering an area of 30 ha in the Dankovsky District (RSEZ Dankov). Sinia Szanhua, CEO of the Russian division, LLC Angel Yeast Rus, says that the total investment in this project amounts to RUB 5.3 bn. Design capacity: 20 thousandtonnes a year.
MrSzanhua is counting on this new enterprise’s output occupying “12% of the Russian market and later being exported”. The possible construction of a yeast factory was first announced in early July 2015. Then, the regional Administration mentioned to Kommersant an investment sum of RUB 4 bn for the same capacity but there was talk only about production of dry yeast. Subsequently, the parameters of the investment project were adjusted.
Another approved resident of RSEZ Dankov was the local LLC Alfa- EcoPlit Industria, which had come up with a project for producing straw blocks for construction and furniture making. RUB 750 m istobeinvestedanditis planned to process 80 tonnes of straw a year into building materials. The status of participant in another regional Lipetsk SEZ, the Chapliginskaya, located in the district of the same name, was received by LLC Chapliginsky Mechanical Works, which has already built a bathroom accessory factory. Analysts warn of potential difficulties with sales in the saturated Chernozem market but note the existence of a good raw material base.
For construction purposes, Angel Yeast has selected an area of 30 ha in the Dankov SEZ. Kommersant was told yesterday by the regional administration that the company plans to start work in 2016 and start the factory up at the end of 2017. At the same time, it’s about producing 20 th. tonnes of dry yeast a year, with an investment of about RUB 4 bn. Output should include distiller’s yeast, special nutrient yeast for pharmaceuticals and feed yeast. It is planned to produce them microbiologically. The plant promises to create in the order of 300 new jobs in the area. The local authorities did not reveal yesterday which legal entity would implement the project in the region or the sources of financing for it.
