Palladio Zannini Industri Grafiche Cartotecniche SpA

Italy’s Palladio Zannini is planning to open a factory to develop and manufacture packaging for pharmaceuticals and cosmetic products in the Kaluga Region. Investments in the project are expected to total 10 million euros, TASS learnt from the regional government’s press office.

“The agreement on the construction of the factory was signed in 2013, and active construction operations are currently under way on a two-hectare site at the Obninsk industrial park,” the press office said.

The company will create 100 new jobs. The factory will operate on a full-cycle basis — from design stage to the manufacturing of finished products.

“We intend to support Kaluga-based pharmaceutical producers by offering them high-quality packaging,” said Mauro Marchi, General Manager of Palladio Zannini. He went on to say that the new factory would produce packaging for the Kaluga-based pharmaceutical cluster.

Currently, all of the Kaluga Region pharmaceutical companies are parts of a single cluster. There are 55 companies at present, including anchor investment projects, such as Novo Nordisk, Hemofarm, Berlin-Chemie and AstraZeneca Industries. Over 80% of the cluster’s output is finished pharmaceutical products. The cluster manufactures more than 50 pharmaceuticals.
